Summer Community

To not publicize the names of things, since our blog is still public, I am not including the name of the community here where we are spending the summer. But I wanted to do a post about how many things there are for the kids to do right around us. They do these community house programs for kids almost every day of the week, including water day, craft day, and other fun activities. Most of the time it is an open house where the kids can play all kinds of games and just play with the other children staying in the area. Many people have a summer home here, so in May when we got here there were only three families with children. Now there are dozens! We of course enjoy the pool and beach and with all these activities we have plenty to do.

Today's craft was stepping stones. The community house programs director and staff mixed up concrete and poured them into forms, then the kids decorated their own with sea shells from the beach, beach glass, and mosaic tiles.
Lexie was practicing with her friend Cici for the 4th of July relay races, to be held in a couple of days.
There are a few fun board games for the kids to play, too, when they want to get out of the heat and come inside.
Gavin is getting pretty good at ping pong!
There is a little playground too, and the kids love to swing. (On water day the kids put the hose down the slide and a wading pool at the bottom and had their own little water park.)
You can see how happy Cole is in the swing! I love how his hair blows around in the breeze. Many fun things! Now I wonder why Lexie and Gavin are always saying they're bored?! I'm ready for school to start, but we are only halfway through the summer!

Looks like such a fun place! Kids will say they are bored no matter where they are or no matter how much fun they had just a few moments ago.
