Rockin' Trip to Utah

"Rock On!" Can you tell Nicholas loved these? He at least kept them on for the picture. This is probably my favorite picture from our trip to Utah last week. We crammed in as much fun, crazy, silly activities as we could! Danny had the week off for law school spring break, so we decided to all head to Utah for a visit.

Here's Gavin and Danny ready to hit the road in Danny's little Ford Ranger. It is the last of the truck, as Danny traded it in for a Saab. Gavin is a trooper to ride the whole way!

And the rest of us flew! Nicholas, Lexie, and I had a long plane trip and layover as we routed through Las Vegas. Poor Nicholas couldn't sleep the whole time but was very tired. But after a long Saturday we made it to Salt Lake! We were able to go out to dinner with my family before turning in for a long jet-lag nap.

Last Sunday, the 8th, we celebrated all four March cousins' birthdays. Here is Nicholas with his four generations.

On the birthday cake, each balloon had candles for each birthday child, so we sang four times! Here's Gavin making a wish...

And Lexie was so funny on her turn. She kept taking these deep breaths to practice blowing out the candles. When the song was over, she poofed them out so fast by letting all the air out at once. I guess practicing paid off.

Danny's mom got all 8 cousins these great glasses. Aren't they cute? The kids love to play with their cousins, and play they did! They made every moment count and had a lot of fun seeing their cousins.

Here's Lexie with her great-grandma and great grandpa. (Danny's mom's parents.) It is nice to have great grandparents still around that they can build a relationship with.

And here are Danny's dad's parents. We enjoyed seeing everyone on our visit.

Monday we switched families (after the kids got some cousin time in that morning!) We went to lunch with my mom and met my sister Annie and her husband Nate at Boondocks in Draper for some more play time. (No really, this is just the beginning of the week!) Annie and I had a chance to catch up and chat while the kids played.

Gavin loved the swing there.

So did Lexie! That night we also visited my grandma (mom's mom,) and my dad's parents. I forgot to get my camera back out! But it was great to see them. On Tuesday we went to the Classic Fun Center for the kids' oldest cousins Kayley and Devan's birthday party. Here are the four little monkeys that love to play together: Dylan, Lexie, Gavin, and Camryn. They had a blast riding scooters and bouncing on bouncy toys.

Nicholas loves to play. Danny can always get him giggling. The music at Classic was sUpEr loud, but you can kind of hear his laugh!
