Gavin is officially 4 and one half! So we thought we'd just play it up a bit and have a birthday cake, with 4-1/2 candles even. (I made a bundt cake and put chocolate frosting on it...it looks like a giant chocolate doughnut!) It was fun since Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit and we made it a little celebration.
We had some good German food for dinner, which I don't make often enough for my own family. It is fun to have my parents around because they appreciate the food and it makes me think of our German ancestry when we eat Jägerschnitzel mit Späetzle und Rotkohl. 
Cole thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate cake too, can you tell?! Happy Half Birthday, Gavin!
