Chlorine Paradise

Try not to be blinded by how white we are in these photos...but we went to Coco Key this week. It is an indoor water park. (Now why didn't they have those around when I was a kid?!) We went last year with our family and my kids have not stopped talking about it ever since. Really, they asked me almost every day if we could go there. So Thursday we told them we were going to take them somewhere and surprise them. We had them convinced we were going to get shots and go to the "potato store." (Lexie doesn't like potatoes..or shots.) I had stashed their swim stuff in the back of the car without their knowing, and so we just pulled up to the water park. They were so excited! And they didn't know we had brought their swim clothes, so they told us to go home (so we could get the stuff, but their confusion was kind of funny.) It was a cold day outside, so it was nice to be in a "tropical" interior for the day.
Lexie loved the slides the most. She always went down on her knees and put her hands in the air to show "no fear."
Gavin thought these yellow slides were a blast, and he liked the lazy river a lot. Danny and I traded off to keep Nicholas, so Danny ended up doing the Lazy River "50,000 times!" (In his words.)
This was Nicholas' first time swimming. He loved it! He had so much fun splashing and kicking and feeling everyone when they were wet. He will be good this summer when we hit the pools.

When we grabbed some lunch, Nicholas showed an interest in Danny's French fries. Nicholas got to try some, and wow! He really likes them! He kept grabbing for more. He pulled a funny little puckered face, too.

We had a fun day! (I couldn't get the chlorine smell out of my nose until late the next day.) Now Lexie and Gavin get to talk about it all the time until we go next year. And Danny and I have until then to gather up attention span to do the water park again.
