Vala's Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday we went to Vala's Pumpkin Patch in Gretna, Nebraska. It is the coolest place! It's an amusement park-Halloween-fall festival-farm and pumpkin patch all in one. I took the kids last year, and this year the whole family was able to go. It was a beautiful day, and Lexie and Gavin were so excited to do all the activities and see everything. It was mom and dad that were worn out first!

Lexie and Gavin loved riding ponies, and Lexie had to name hers before she even got on it.

Gavin did not want me to walk next to him. He said he wanted to ride it by himself.

We had lunch at the bakery (soup in breadbowls and yummy baked goods!) Here are all three kids enjoying the day.

They have these cut-out face boards all over. Here's a sample with Lexie as a witch.
Cole had fun, I'm sure he wished he could go do all the things with Lexie and Gavin. He just came along for the ride and enjoyed himself. (Although he was getting sick of sitting in his baby seat in the stroller by the end.)

They have these giant "jumping pillow" bouncing pumpkins. They are worlds better than a trampoline, because the kids can just slide down when they're done! (Plus they are huge!) If the kids only did one activity all day, this would've been it.So read the sign...here we are as pirates! I'm glad we could get out of these shackles. (Lexie took this picture!)

Lexie went down the super-fast, steep slide. Whee! We of course had to see the pumpkin chunkin' cannon (shoots pumpkins a quarter mile,) the pumpkin eating dragon, and the pig races. So much fun!

There were actually three petting zoos around with lots of fun farm atmosphere. (Lexie and Gavin didn't actually want to touch the animals when they came close.)

Last January, when we had the ultrasound and found out Nicholas was going to be a boy, I got excited about dressing my two boys in matching outfits! Here's the matching shirts I bought then for them to wear this fall and winter!

And all the fall colors were amazing! It was a fun, wonderful family day. What a great way to celebrate autumn and Halloween. This is such a fun tradition that we will remember about our years in Omaha!
