We did some fun things to celebrate Days of '47, or Pioneer Day, in Utah while we are here. Every year for at least the last 4 years Danny has helped pull the Bountiful High School Jazz Ensemble on a trailer in the Bountiful Handcart Days Parade on July 23rd. The kids and I like to ride in the truck and wave at the crowd. We get to listen the the band and see some of the other cool parade things. Here is Gavin hanging out in the truck before we go.

Lexie rode in the parade this year with her "bestest friend" Sophie. She had lots of fun throwing candy and waving, too. Sophie got to meet Nicholas for the first time after the parade, and we all went out for pizza.
On the 24th, we were very fortunate to have some tickets to the Salt Lake Bees baseball game and fireworks that followed. It was a lot of fun! The kids got to see the pros play ball after having just learned this sport themselves this summer. We went with my family and enjoyed the awesome fireworks. Summer is the best!

Gavin enjoyed the game and fireworks, but he was really tired. It's hard on a little guy to stay up late with all of our events while we are out of town! He was excited he got ice cream at the ballpark though.We all had lots of fun doing these activities! It's nice to remember the pioneers...even if these activities are not even close to anything pioneers were able to do! We are very blessed.
