So if you wonder where we've been, this is it:
When we first arrived at the community here in Maryland where we are renting for the summer, the pool was still closed. Maryland schools did not get out until mid-June, so we had a three week wait for the pool to open. But ever since it opened, we have been swimming every other day.
Pretty much Lexie's favorite thing to do any given day is swim. She has been a little fish and loves to play in the pool. (And that's probably an understatement.) She has improved a lot since last year and doesn't need any floaty help, and that has given her new freedom.

Gavin is doing very well also, but is still a bit cautious in the water. As long as he has his water wings on, he can do pretty much anything in the water. He and Lexie took swimming lessons here in Maryland, but he is not as confident to try without floaty help. He has a lot of fun though, and does not appreciate Lexie's and my game of throw-tag.
Here is a buddy Gavin has made at the pool named Isaac. They were having a squirt gun fight, and were having a grand time. We see Isaac almost every day, as well as several other kids and moms we have met here.
There is an inground wading pool for the littlest swimmers. It is Cole's favorite place to be. He gets so excited that he thinks he can do pretty much anything, forgetting that water in the face is not ideal! He loves to hold the side of the pool and walk around. Occasionally he just turns and takes off toward the middle, forgetting he doesn't know how to walk yet!

Splash, splash and away! It looks like lots of fun. I know you kids all loved swimming and it was fun to have the Cottonwood Heights Rec Center so near. You all got to be good swimmers. I'm impressed by Lexie. My, she's growing so fast. Nicholas doesn't look so sure of the experience! You're a good mom to spend so much time at the pool with them. They'll treasure the memories.
